Richard Andrew Ellis Allan Raymond, known affectionately as Rich to his loved ones, passed away suddenly at his home on October 5, 2024. Ontario. Born on June 6, 1981, in Woodstock, Richard's life was one marked by a deep love for his family, a passion for hockey, and a commitment to his personal goals.
Richard was the cherished son of Esther and Allan Raymond, and he grew up surrounded by the love and camaraderie of his siblings: Jeff and his wife Diana, the late Monica, Dory and her husband Craig Robertson, Lesley and her husband Dave King, Gerald "Parm" and his wife Lindsay, Ryan and his wife Melanie, and AJ and his wife Avery. His life was further enriched when he became an uncle to Chase, Evan, Katie, Ayla, Arie, Bently, Rowan, Joline, Drew, Jordan, Masey, Danielle, Jessica, Sarah, Cameron, Skye, Cody, Brayden, Kristina, and Justin. Richard will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Richard was predeceased by his grandparents Andrew and Marion Gauvin and Ellis and Helen Raymond, who were undoubtedly waiting to welcome him with open arms.
A man of determination and pride, Richard was very proud of completing his grade 12 education. He had aspirations of serving his community as a police officer, a testament to his strong sense of justice and his desire to make a positive impact on the world around him.
Richard's enthusiasm for life was evident in his interests and hobbies. He was an avid hockey fan, with a lifelong loyalty to the Detroit Red Wings. His spirited discussions about the latest game and his insightful analysis of team strategies will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. Richard also found solace and joy in the natural beauty of Grand Bend. The beach there was a favorite spot where he could unwind and soak in the serene landscape, creating memories that will now be cherished by his family and friends.
Richard's legacy is one of warmth, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. His presence brought light into the lives of those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt. As we say goodbye to Richard, we also celebrate the time we were fortunate enough to share with him. His spirit, his kindness, and his love for life will continue to inspire us all.
As we lay Richard to rest, we hold onto the memories and the love he shared with us. His journey on earth may have ended, but his story will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best. Rest in peace, Richard. Your life was a beautiful reflection of the joy and love you brought into this world.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, from 10 to 11 am where the memorial service will take place in the chapel at 11 am.
