Surrounded by the love of his family, Frank passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Sakura House at the age of 65. Husband and best friend to Nancy (nee Dean) for 40 years. Loving father of Nicole Van Ostaeyen-Koot (Tony), Katie Van Ostaeyen (2005), Christie Van Ostaeyen, and Kelsey Ingram (Brandon) and proud Grandpa of Harry, KC, Hannah, Nolan and Kallie. Dear son of Joe and the late Maria Van Ostaeyen, Frank is also survived by his siblings, Rita Warren (George), John Van Ostaeyen, Bernie Turpin (Rick), Charlie Van Ostaeyen, Marilyn Greer (George) and Anita Lange (Gary), by his mother-in-law, Edna Dean and the late Basil Dean (2022) and brother-in-law Ed Dean (Jan). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Frank was born in Strathroy, Ontario. He and Nancy lived and farmed in Embro since the early 80s. His greatest sense of pride were his daughters, but his face would light up with so much love when he heard the words Grampa or Papa.
A farmer, friend and family man.
The Family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kocsis for his dedication to Frank’s care, along with the wonderful and compassionate staff at the Woodstock General Palliative Care Unit and Sakura House.
