David Woods Obituary

David Scott Woods, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, departed this world suddenly on February 15, 2024, at the age of 55. Born on April 10, 1968, in London, Ontario, David's early years were filled with the warmth of a loving family and the vibrant life of his hometown. His final moments were spent in the peaceful surroundings of Thorndale, Ontario, a place he had grown to love dearly.

David was the beloved son of Marion and Allan Woods, who instilled in him the values of kindness, perseverance, and community spirit that would come to define his life. He was a supportive and caring brother to Robert (Nancy) Woods and Sharon (Craig) Chapman. David's unwavering love and dedication as a father were evident in his deep bonds with his children, Emily, Carly, Ashley, and Natalie, who will forever cherish his memory and the lessons he passed on to them and survived by their mother Susan.

Throughout his life, David's amiable nature and commitment to his community were apparent to all who knew him. He was a respected figure in the agricultural sector, serving as the current Chairman of the Ontario Bean Board. His leadership and vision were instrumental in advancing the interests of bean growers and the agricultural community at large. David's passion for the outdoors and winter sports also shone through his tenure as Chair of the Thamesford Snowmobile Club, where he fostered a sense of camaraderie and stewardship among its members. David was well known for his love of a good debate which he excelled at due to his vast knowledge.

David's absence will be profoundly felt by his aunts and uncles, his nieces and nephews, and his numerous cousins. He was a pillar in the family, always ready with a warm smile, a helping hand, and a listening ear. His ability to connect with people extended beyond blood relatives, touching the lives of countless friends who found in him a loyal and compassionate companion.

A private family funeral will be held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Thamesford Chapel. A Burial will take place at Robins Hill Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday February 24, 2024 from 2-4 pm  at  Purple Hill Country Hall (20903 Purple Hill Rd. Thorndale)  with words of remembrance at 2:30 pm.
