Yvonne Van Boekel, a beacon of laughter and adventure, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, in Innerkip, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 14, 1942, in The Netherlands, Yvonne's zest for life and her infectious humor touched everyone she met. Her journey of 82 years was marked by love, creativity, and a boundless spirit of exploration.
Yvonne's early life in The Netherlands set the stage for her adventurous path. After completing her nursing diploma, she embraced a grand adventure in her mid-twenties, moving to Canada, a bold step that showcased her courage and independent spirit. It was in Canada that she met her beloved husband, Maurice, with whom she built a life filled with joy, laughter, and the welcoming of their cherished children, Eric (Katherine), Margot Hicks, and Ingrid Ramsey.
Her role as a mother was one of Yvonne's greatest joys, and she instilled in her children the values of humor, creativity, and the courage to embrace life's adventures. Her legacy continued to flourish through her adored grandchildren, Mackenna, Peyton, Quinn, Lane, Tarynn, Connor, Jason, Mollie, Alex, Ellen, Stevie, and Nolan, who will forever cherish memories of their grandmother's love and spirited tales.
Yvonne's love for animals, especially horses, was a testament to her nurturing heart and her appreciation for the simple joys in life. Her laughter was a constant presence, brightening the lives of those around her and reminding them of the beauty in every moment.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Maurice, Yvonne's memory will be honored by her siblings Annlies Van Gurp (Frans), Max Verhoeven (Hanny), Willim Verhoeven (Toon Ory), Karl Verhoeven (Lia), and Leonie Verhoeven. Her vibrant spirit will also live on through her numerous nieces and nephews, who were fortunate to experience her warmth and wit.
Yvonne's life was a canvas of creativity, from her early days in The Netherlands to her bold move to Canada and the family she raised with love and laughter. Her sense of humor was a gift that she shared generously, ensuring that every gathering was filled with joy and every challenge met with a smile.
Visitation will take place on Friday July 26, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Brock and Visser Funeral Home A private family funeral will be held. Interment will take place Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ingersoll. If you so desire donations to Woodstock Hospital, Diagnostic Imaging Department would be appreciated.
