Winifred Elisabeth "Wynne" (Brunt) Evans

EVANS, Winifred Elisabeth - December 26, 1922 - April 18, 2011. It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Winifred (Wynne) Evans (nee Brunt). Predeceased, less than a year ago, by her beloved husband of 66 years, C. Roden Evans. Cherished mother of Janet Snider (Scott Bradford) of Bayfield, Kenneth (Maria Mendes) of Guelph, Stephen (Karen) of London and Jean Shippey (Doug) of Woodstock. Loving grandmother to Jacqueline (George), David (Vanessa), Bryan (Emily), Andrew, Emily, Ryan (Breanne), Katie (Adam), Laurie (Devin) and Meagan. Great Nana to nine great grandchildren. Remembered by her brother-in-law Philip Gamester of Sarnia and nieces Judy and Wendy and their families. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Margaret Brunt of Sarnia and by her sister Helen Gamester. Wynne served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in England during WW II and supported her husband in the Baptist ministry for 25 years. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday April 20, 2011 from 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 11:00 am. Interment later in the Baptist Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or First Baptist Church, Woodstock.
