McGrath, William “Willy”

William "Willy" McGrath, who was born on June 9, 1998, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 3, 2023. He was 25 years old. Willy was the cherished son of John McGrath (Tammy Taylor) and Norma Parker (James Cofell). He was a beloved brother, sharing an especially close bond with his twin, Michael, and his younger sister, Nora Turek. Willy was blessed to have a large, supportive family, including his loving grandmother Rosie Bonney, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents Papa Gene Bonney, Papa Stan Parker and Jean Parker.

Willy was known for his generous, thoughtful, and kind nature. He had a heart that was larger than life and a spirit that was contagious. Willy never hesitated to help others, often giving generously from his own resources, no matter how limited they may have been. This selfless generosity was one of the many qualities that made him so special and so dearly loved by all who knew him.

One of Willy's passions was his love for cats, especially his cherished Tippy. He had an innate ability to connect with these creatures, and their company brought him great comfort and joy. Willy's other interests were as diverse as his personality. He had a remarkable collection of rocks, each one meticulously cataloged and cared for. His love for building things was evident in his creations, from intricate models to larger structures. Willy was mechanically inclined, a trait that was evident in his ability to fix almost anything. He took great pride in this skill, often using it to help others.

Willy will be remembered not only for his kind and generous spirit, but also for the joy he brought to others. His sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh will be sorely missed. His memory will forever be kept alive by the love he shared with his family, friends, and the many lives he touched during his short but impactful life.

In the end, it was not the length of Willy's life, but the depth of it, that truly mattered. His generous spirit, his love for his family, and his passion for his interests were evident in everything he did. Willy McGrath may have left us too soon, but the legacy he leaves behind will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by all.
