William "Bill" Alexander Shaw

Shaw, William “Bill” Alexander – Passed away peacefully with his daughters, Gail and Margaret by his side, on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, at the Woodstock Hospital at the age of 98. He leaves behind his companion of over 30 years Norma Forrester. He is survived by his sons Doug (Helen) and Bill, and his daughters Gail and Margaret. His grandsons Steve (Chantal) Cousineau, Kevin (Dani) Cousineau, Geordie (Michelle) Anderson, and Cameron Anderson. His brothers Doug (late Nellie) and Donald (Pearl). Great grandchildren Chloe, Acelin, and Sidney. And many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents John (1979) and Sadie (2003), his wife Mary (1985), his daughter Carol (2013), his sister Peggy (2021) and his brother George (1987). As he reflected back on his life, he stated, “I had a good life.” He loved to be busy and useful, a problem solver. He was grateful for his years in Smooth Rock Falls and the friendships of its people. He loved to fish, play darts, and go bowling. He was proud of his WWII service, but mostly he was very proud of his children, who will miss him. Cremation has taken place.
