William "Bill" John Hayward

With sadness, but gratitude for his life, Bill’s family announces his passing on Sunday, February 5, 2024 at the Woodstock Hospital in his 90th year.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Janet (nee Tuttle), with whom he shared over 68 wonderful years.  Loving father of Deborah Turvey (Jeff) and the late Daniel (1987).  Proud Grandpa of Melissa (Erik), Rebecca (Matthew) and Katharine (Adam) and doting Great Grandpa to Gavin, Hannah, Deacon and Ezra.

Predeceased by his parents, Percy and Meta Hayward (nee Chester).

Bill’s working career was spent with the Board of Works at the City of Woodstock, retiring after 34 years of service.   In retirement, Bill led a quiet life, enjoying some travel.  He and Janet became avid birders, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, on Thursday February 15 from 2-4 and 6-8pm.  Funeral service will take place on Friday morning, February 16 at 11am in the funeral home chapel.  Interment at the Anglican Cemetery.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Woodstock Hospital- Critical Care Unit would be gratefully acknowledged by the family - the care Bill received there was exceptional.
