William "Bill" Frederick Hawkins

“Bill" Federick Hawkins, a beloved husband, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023, at PeopleCare, Tavistock in his 84th year. Born in Woodstock, Bill was well known in the community, known for his kindness, humour, and generosity.

Bill was the cherished husband of Evelyn Hawkins, who was not only his wife but also his partner and caregiver. Together, they navigated the journey of life, sharing love, laughter, and countless memories. He was also a loving father figure to Evelyn's son, David Hefford. Bill held a special place in his heart for his niece, Barbara Livingstone (Bob), whom he honoured and cherished He was loved by his extended family.

Bill was a successful businessman, serving as the President and Owner of Pruss-Hawkins Alignment and Collision Service LTD for over 50 years. His dedication and hard work were evident in the growth and success of his business. He was a respected figure in the industry, known for his integrity and commitment to excellence.

Outside of his professional life, Bill had a deep love for Quarter horses. He spent many happy hours showing and training these magnificent creatures, his face always lighting up with joy whenever he was around them.

Bill was also a dedicated volunteer with the Woodstock Shrine Club and a proud member of the Mocha Shriners. His commitment to service was testament to his generous spirit and his desire to make a positive impact his community.

Travel was another of Bill's passions. He loved exploring new places in his American Eagle coach, each journey an adventure filled with wonder and discovery. His travels brought him great joy.

The family wish to sincerely thank the care team at PeopleCare (Tavistock) for their professionalism and kindness and finally for making Bill's short time in palliative care comfortable.

As expressions of sympathy and in keeping with the family's wishes, memorial donations can be made in Bill's name to PeopleCare (Tavistock) Resident's Activity Fund or Shriners Hospitals for Children ® - Canada.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Saturday November 18, 2023 from 11:30am-1pm followed by a memorial service at 1 pm held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave.)
