William Orr Clark, fondly known as Bill to family and friends, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023, in Woodstock, Ontario. Born on August 22, 1933, in Toronto, Ontario, Bill lived a full and meaningful life, touching the hearts of many with his kindness, humour and unwavering dedication to his family and profession.
Bill's love story with his wife Patricia is one for the ages. Their enduring companionship laid the foundation for a beautiful family that includes their children Matthew, Michael (Faye), Theresa (Tony Rasp), and Joseph (Jackie). Bill was a cherished grandfather to Vanessa (Catlin), Celia (Jon), William, Helaina (Kurtis), Madeline (Jesse), Mackenzie, Camryn, Jacob, Jennifer, Adam, Ashlyn, Kelsey (Cody), Ethan, and Connor, and a great-grandfather to Millie, Evie, Brooks, Edison, Lennon and Willa.
He was the beloved brother of Barbara Barnard (Ed) and was predeceased by his brother Bruce. Bill's nieces and nephews Doug, Dave, Vickie, Lee Anne, Mark, Ann, Helen and Steve, who survive him, will always remember their dear uncle with fondness and respect.
Bill's professional journey in the advertising field was marked by dedication and accomplishment. He served the Toronto Star for 37 years with distinction, beginning as a copy clerk and retiring as Director of Advertising, and along the way becoming beloved to so many.
Memorial Visitation will take place on Tuesday August 8 from 12 noon- 1 pm. Followed by a Memorial Service at 1 pm held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock, Ontario 519-539-0004). A celebration of life will follow in Golden Lake, his very special place.
