STEWART - With dignity, at Parkwood Hospital, London on Thursday December 4, 2008. William "Bill" A. Stewart of London in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Mary C. (nee Verboom) Stewart. Dear father of Nancy Webster and her husband Peter of Toronto, Nora Stewart and her husband Donn Lovett of Calgary and James Stewart and his wife Pearly of Toronto. Loved grandfather of Beth Meacham (Jeff), Miriam Tadros (Maged), Nora Stewart, Shanda Doherty (Ramy), Kate Lovett and great grandfather of Margaret and James and will be remembered by Mary's children; Jenn Killing (Kent), Mark Hardeman (Megan), Ben Hardeman (Penny), Brad Hardeman and grandchildren ; Hailey, Jordan, Leah and Sydney. Dear brother of Mary Myers and her husband Al of Toronto. Predeceased by his late wife Margaret (nee Smith) Stewart (2000), daughter Belle M. Stewart (2002) and by his brothers James and Don. Bill was a veteran of WWII serving with the 12th C.A.R. Trois Rivieres (Three Rivers) Tank Corp., 3rd Regiment. His involvement in the war brought him to Italy, North Africa and Western Europe. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto achieving his Bachelor of Science and Engineering. Bill was an artist, a craftsman, General Contractor and a non-conformist extraordinaire. He loved "The" Calculus. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Sunday December 7, 2008 from 7-9 pm and again on Monday from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. The complete funeral service will be held at the funeral home in the chapel on Monday at 1:30 pm with Pastor Darrell Shaule officiating. Interment later in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
