MURRAY- After a courageous battle with cancer William Osmond Murray passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on February 23, 2007 at the Woodstock General Hospital with his family by his side. Dear husband of 50 years to Margaret J. Murray (nee Reeves). He was the only son of the late Osmond and Eva Murray. Loving father of Catherine Manicom and her husband Brian of Guelph, Christine Shantz and her husband Paul of New Hamburg, Karen Bushell and her husband Kevin of Ingersoll, and David Murray and his wife Karen of Embro. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Tamara, Alisha, and Brendan Manicom, Colin and Nathan Shantz, Ryan, Scott, and Kimberley Bushell, Justin, Kristen, and Richard Murray. William was born in Oxford County and was a dairy farmer all his life. He is a life member of Knox United Church and former elder, former member of the Embro Optimist Club, coached Embro men's hockey for many years, and was on the Board of Directors for Cambro Court. William enjoyed his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all his family. Friends will be received at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Judy Campbell officiating. Interment in Embro Cemetery at a later date.
