MALHIOT - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Thursday September 8, 2005. William "Bill" Malhiot of Woodstock in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Marion Malhiot (nee Gillespie) for 52 years . Dear father of Marie Schram and her husband Dick of Winnipeg, Denise Burns and her husband Pat of Richmond Hill, and Mike Malhiot and his wife Lori of Belgrave. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife Stella Kirk and his daughter Kathryn "Kathy" Holmes. Friends may call at the R. D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue Woodstock (539-0004) on Sunday from 2:30 - 4:00 pm followed by a time of fellowship in the funeral home lounge. A private family service and interment in the Anglican Cemetery will take place. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital Building Fund would be appreciated. He was in the insurance business for many years and prior to that he co-owned the construction business that built homes in the Huron Park area. His love of sports and athletic background led to coaching and convening minor hockey and baseball. An avid dog lover, he was instrumental in founding the Oxford County Kennel Club. His interests also included carpentry, gardening, cooking, camping and story-telling. A loving and dedicated father, dad's greatest pleasure was in family gatherings complete with good food, plentiful drink, music and dancing. Till we meet again.
