WILSON, William J. - Peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital, on Monday December 24th, 2012. William Joseph Wilson of Woodstock in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Jill Avril Wilson (nee Humberstone). Dear father of Colleen (Arthur) Church, Judy (Tony) Schlegel, Shirley Wilson, Jackie Wilson and Laurie Wilson. Cherished grandfather of Heather Church, Ian (Cate) Church, Erica Schlegel, Scott (Amy and Brayden Inscoe) Schlegel and great grandfather of Audrey Church and Spencer Schlegel, he is also survived by his brother Alan Wilson. Predeceased by his parents William and Madonna (nee Weiler) Wilson, sister Margaret Bowes and parents-in-law Trudy and Wilf Humberstone. Bill worked for over 33 years at Overland Trucking, was a longtime member of the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association (Navy Club), as well as an avid golfer and previously a member at Craigowan golf club in Woodstock. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in July of 2013 during Family Week. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the nurses of the Woodstock General Hospital Palliative Care Ward for the amazing gentle care they gave our father.
