William John "Bill" Howlett

HOWLETT, William J. - Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Sakura House, on Thursday, March 27, 2014. William John Howlett of Woodstock in his 99th year. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Howlett. Cherished father to sons Donald (Kathy) Howlett, Blain (Veronica) Jamieson and daughter Marlene (Gerald) Matta. Loving grandfather and great grandfather to many. Predeceased by his brothers Reginald and Robert Howlett and sister Edna Dunn. William was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55 for 69 years where he was a Past President and life member. He was awarded the highest medal, The Legion Meritorious Service Medal. William was also a Past President and life member of the Oxford Fish and Game. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004, on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place at Knox Presbyterian Church, 59 Riddell St. Woodstock, on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2pm with Rev. Mark McLennan officiating.
