William Frederick "Bill" Ebert

April 8, 1925 — February 16, 2007

EBERT, William F. - It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of William Frederick Ebert age 81 at Woodstock General Hospital on Friday Feb.16, 2007. Beloved husband and best friend of Madeline Ebert (nee Carder) for close to 59 years. Dear father of 3 daughters, Shirley (Doug Rupay) of Mansfield, Betty (Bill Munsie) of Vancouver and Carol (Andy Graham) of Woodstock. Also dear Grandpa of Kris and Erinn Rupay, Byron Munsie and Ellise and Shellby Graham. Survived by one sister, Marion Hallett (Harold) of St. Catharines, many nieces and nephews, cousins and their families, and a very special Aunt Florentine Wallace (100 yrs) in Port Colborne. A brother-in-law Raymond Carder and sister-in-law Rev. Muriel Carder also survive. Predeceased by sisters Pearl, Lorena, Ruth and Frieda and their husbands. Bill was born in Port Colborne in 1925, but at a young age the family moved to a farm in Louth Township, (St. Catharines). He worked on his parents' fruit farm while apprenticing to be a Sheet Metal worker in St. Catharines. A Veteran of the Second World War, he served in the Armoured Corps of the Fort Garry Horse Regiment while in Holland and Germany. He was married in 1948 to Madeline Carder at Burgessville Baptist Church and resided in St. Catharines for over 50 years. He was a former member of Louth United Church in St. Catharines and more recently of St. David's United Church in Woodstock, after moving there in 2000 to be near his family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at St. David's United Church, 190 Springbank Avenue N. , Woodstock on Tuesday Feb. 20, 2007 after 12:00 pm where the service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. John Furry officiating. Inurnment at Burgessville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, any contributions to St. David's United Church, Juravinski Cancer Centre, 699 Concession St., Hamilton, ON L8V 5C2 or the Canadian Porphyria Foundation, P.O.
