William "Bill" Gregory Ransome

Our hearts are shattered as we announce the unexpected passing of Bill Ransome. 

Bill was a loving and sentimental person who cared deeply for his family, friends and all those around him. He was a proud and loving husband to Barb, father to Jesse, Braden and Chan and Papa to his shining star Bodhi. 

Brother to Sandra Bruinewoud, Frank and Linda Elsom and Brenda Sampson. Son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, friend and coworker to so many. Bill had a large and loving circle around him. Friends became like family and to him family was cherished.

Predeceased by his parents Doris and Bill, brother Jeff and brothers-in-law Jake, John and Don.

Bill was a special person! He taught us so much. He was a musician who loved music, cars, fishing, wild life and Creemore Pilsner beer. He was knowledgeable about every topic and our go to guy when we needed an answer. He could fix pretty much anything and was happy to share his knowledge, especially with his sons. He approached all things and situations with patience that we lovingly referred to as “Ransome time”. 

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Bill was a treasure in so many ways and will be forever missed. 

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock, on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Donations in memory of Bill can be made to WDDS Oxford or to Music Box Children's Society.
