WELCH - At his residence on Tuesday August 24, 2004. Wilfred L. Welch of Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock and formerly of Bexley St., Woodstock in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Muriel C. Welch (nee Eltom). Dear father of Lorraine Laekeman and husband Robert Chapman of Brownsville and Leonard Welch and his wife Linda of Bowmanville and step father of Joan Battley of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Wilfred is also survived by his son-in-law Amay Laekeman of RR# 2, Burgessville. Predeceased by his first wife Gladys G. Welch (nee Brown) 1993, by his great grandsons Jason and Adam and by his several brothers and sisters. Wilfred was the last surviving member of his own family. Wilfred was a member of First Baptist Church, Woodstock and had been employed with Cullen's Flour Mill for over 30 years. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 539-0004, on Thursday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 603 Adelaide St., Woodstock on Friday at 12:30 pm with Rev. Dave Stephens officiating. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Walsingham. Contributions to the First Baptist Church would be appreciated.
