Wilfred Leonard Manning

MANNING - At Woodingford Lodge on Thursday August 7, 2003. Wilfred L. Manning of Woodstock in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Winnifred Manning (nee Carver)(1990). Dear father of Marie Thornton and her husband Ron of Tillsonburg, Wilfred Jr. of Kelowna B.C., Frank of Stratford and Walter and his wife Jean of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Dear uncle of Leslie Carver of London and Bonnie McFarland of Laguna Beach, California. Also survived by his special friend Gerry Janzen of Brantford. Predeceased by his sister Mildred and one granddaughter. Wilfred was a Past President of the Ontario Band Masters Association, Past President of the Canadian Band Directors Association, former member of Brantford Senior Kiwanis and Lawn Bowling Clubs, former Conductor of Woodstock Lions Club Band, the Norwich Musical Society Band and the Brantford Memorial Concert Band. Wilfred was also a renowned Adjudicator of the Brass and Woodwind Instruments of North America and taught music at the North Park Collegiate in Brantford for 9 years. At the deceased request a private family service was held at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock (519-539-0004). Interment in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford. Contributions to the Woodingford Lodge would be appreciated.
