Wiebe Horinga

HORINGA, Wiebe - Peacefully with his family by his side at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital after a short illness, on Saturday October 17, 2009. Wiebe Horinga of Woodstock in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Sally Horinga (nee deBoer) for over 50 years. Loving father of Annie Davis (Brad) and Jack Horinga (Tina). Loving grandfather to Alyssa, Brittany and Adriana. Brother of Hank (Betty), Geert (Jitske), Bill (Margaret), Jeanette Scheltema and Grace (Henry) Kikkert. Brother-in-law of Albert (Alida) deBoer, Audrey (Ken) Howard and survived by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Jantje Horinga and brother-in-law Fred Scheltema. Wiebe was a lifetime member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church in Woodstock. He was a long time employee of Firestone Textiles and had been retired for 13 years. He will always be remembered for his lifelong love of birds and poultry. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Monday October 19, 2009 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service to honour Wiebe's life will be held at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church, Lansdowne Ave., Woodstock on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Loerts officiating.
