Weldon Earle Fanning Jr.

Fanning, Weldon E. Jr. – “Sonny” passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, August 31st, 2019, at Parkwood Veteran’s Institute, London, in his 94th year. Weldon has gone to be with his devoted wife of 70 years, Eleanor Fanning. They were lifelong residents of Peterborough, ON. Lovingly missed by his son, Richard (Kimberly) Fanning. Cherished grandfather of Ashley (Gabe) DeRosa and Ashley (Mark Stafford) McGowan. Great Grandfather to Gia, Tino, and Marcello. Weldon will also be fondly missed by his brother-in-law, Thomas Lyle and his nieces and nephew. Weldon was an immensely proud World War II veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, 1944-1947. He worked throughout his life as a master dry cleaner and was active in the Boy Scout movement for many years, finally as Assistant District Commissioner. Cremation has taken place. Private family service to follow.
