MATKOWSKI - At Woodstock General Hospital on Thursday, January 3, 2008, Walter W. Matkowski of Woodstock in his 80th year. Beloved wife of Maria (nee Suchecki) Matkowski for over 37 years. Loved father of Irene Matkowski of London and John Matkowski of Hamilton. Dear brother-in-law of Ken Suchecki and his wife Donna of London and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Walter has been a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a past employee of Firestone Textiles. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Monday January 7, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A private family service will be held at a later date, Fr. Mathias Wronski will be the officiant. Interment later in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery. Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. Modlitway will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:30 pm.
