Wallis Wesley Hammond

HAMMOND, Wallis Wesley - Passed away peacefully at University Hospital, London on January 19th 2016 in his 90th year. Loving husband of Margaret Hammond, nee Doran (2011) for 59 years. Father of Betty (Wolfgang Hofer), David (Kerstin), Steven (Nancy), Larry (Jane), Ken, Carol (Jamie Lafreniere). Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and siblings Morley (Audrey), Jean Engberg, Homer (Marie). Son of the late Leslie and Dora Wallis. Dear friend of Mike Richardson (Irma Jean). Wallis was pre-deceased, by son Grant (Dorien Murray), grand-daughter Krista Hofer, his infant brother Arthur, and by brother-in-law Ken Engberg. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas St. W. Thamesford, on Friday, January 22, from 1-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Banner United Church on Saturday, January 23, at 11:00am with Pastor Mary Dillon officiating. Interment in the Banner Cemetery. We welcome everyone to attend as the celebration of Wallis' life will continue at the Thamesford Community Centre at 1:00pm. A dairy farmer and lifelong member of Banner United Church, Wallis contributed to the community, including, Jr. Farmers, Councilor and Mayor of Zorra Township. Family Children's Services, Alexandria Hospital Foundation and Middlesex United Church Presbytery. He loved being in the bush, playing euchre and checking on the crops.
