MAGGS, Violet Emily (nee Wiltshire) - Violet was born September 4th, 1925 in Bristol, England to Edward and Emily Wiltshire. During World Was II, Vi worked for the British Government's Ministry of Timber Control, and spent many nights on the rooftops serving as fire watch during the bombing. In 1944 Violet married Leonard K. R. Maggs, to whom she was married for 43 years. Vi immigrated to Canada in 1959, and worked for the Diversery Corporation for almost thirty years, starting as a stenographer and working her way up to be the assistant to the company president. Additionally, Vi was a long-time volunteer at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, but her family was always the focus of her life. Violet is survived by her daughter Linda Robertson of Woodstock, her son Steve Maggs and his wife Jean of Roswell, Georgia, grandchildren Katherine Robertson-Cain and her husband Patrick, Frances Oei and her husband Rick, Lauren Maggs, Derek Maggs, and her great-grandchildren Emily, Zachary, and Jessica. Predeceased by her husband Len, her son-in-law Frank and her grandson Stephen. Violet was cherished by her family and will be dearly missed. Love's last gift is remembrance. The family gives many thanks to the caring staff at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock. If desired, memorial contributions to the Lymphedema of Ontario Association would be appreciated.
