Valerie Drane

DRANE - On Sunday January 15, 2006, Valerie Mae Drane was called home to be with her Heavenly Father. She was the beloved wife of Jack Drane for 51 years. Devoted mother of Jeffrey and his wife Darlene of Woodstock, Christine of Toronto and was predeceased by her son James Edward in 1988. She was the loving grandmother of Kenneth James. Also survived by her brothers James, Ernie and David. After moving to Woodstock, she was a lifetime member of Dundas United Church. One of the founding Board members of Operation Sharing, was the driving force for "The Christmas Place" toy store for the past 25 years an active school volunteer and received the "Mayor's Citizen of the Year" award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to volunteering in 2004. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 539-0004 on Wednesday January 18, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Valerie's life will be held at the Dundas United Church, Woodstock on Thursday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Kirby Constable officiating.
