HOWLETT, Anthony John “A.J.”

December 21, 1939 - November 2, 2022

Tony “Nip” Howlett passed away surrounded by love and family on November 2, 2022 at home, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Sharon Howlett nee Crawford for almost 56 years. Cherished father of Leanne Howlett, Amberlee (Tom) O’Connor, and Aleisha Howlett (Dan Miller). Loving Papa of Jordan, Mackenzie, Ainslee, Tiernan, Lucian, and Freya. Adored great grandfather “Grapes” to Axton, Jade, McKenna, and Octavia. Tony is survived by his sister Sandy Chattington, brother Don Howlett, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his mother Enid Howlett. Tony was a dedicated volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society for 25 years. He was a member of the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association, and he and Sharon were longtime members of St. David's United Church in Woodstock. Tony had a passion for traveling and he and Sharon visited many destinations spanning the globe, often with friends. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his caregiving, strength, quirky sense of humour, dedication to his family, and his uncanny ability to remember the price of something he bought in the 1960s. As Tony would say, “See you on the other side”. Friends and family are invited to visit with the family on Friday, November 11, 2022 at South Gate Centre (191 Old Wellington St S, Woodstock), from  1-2 pm, with words of remembrance being shared at 2 pm and followed by a toast to Tony.  Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to VON Oxford Sakura House and may be arranged through Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock (519-539-0004).  Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed online at www.brockandvisser.com
