HORTON, Thomas William - We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Thomas William Horton, in his 99th year at the Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock on Friday May 12th, 2017. He was the only son of Thomas William Horton and Alison White Syme (Baigrie). Tom was predeceased in 2012 by his beloved wife of over 71 years, Mildred June (Benn), his loved son Thomas William Horton and his loving son-in-law Ken Hill in 2015. Tom leaves behind his loving children Jeannette Hill, Bob Horton (Liz) and daughter-in-law Verna Horton. He is also survived by his grandchildren Darryl and Judy Hill, Darren Hill, Leisa Horton, Travis Horton, Jay Horton, Robin and Amy Horton and Jenny and Pablo D'Amore along with great-grandchildren Michael and Jennie Hill, Rebecca Hill, Sidney Littleton Hill, Kemper Horton and Kylee Horton. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Helen (Benn) Sine and brother-in-law Lloyd Stewart. Tom was predeceased by brothers and sisters-n-law Sherwood Benn (Laura), Evelyn (Benn) and Jack Ketcheson, Garfield Benn (Doris), Vernon Benn (Marion), Myrtle (Benn) and Wally Sutherland, Ken Sine and Lena (Benn) Stewart. Tom was a longtime employee of Ontario Hydro and was a lifetime member of Belleville Lodge AF & AM # 123. He and his wife enjoyed many wonderful years living in Belleville, James Bay (Fraserdale) and Sudbury as well as making friends on their many trips. They loved bowling and curling and arm-chair golf. Tom was also an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and wanted to see them win the cup one more time before he left. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family graveside service in Bellleville at a later date.
