Theresia Rosina (Gross) Kleiner

KLEINER, Theresia Rosina (nee Gross) Oct. 16, 1938 - Dec. 25, 2016 - Surrounded by her family, Theresia's kind and gentle soul released to be with her Lord on Christmas morning at Sakura House in Woodstock. Theresia was born in the peasant village of Kischker, Batschka (now Backo Dobro Polje, Serbia), evacuated in October 1944 by way of wagon trek and eventually emigrated from England to Woodstock, Canada in 1954 where her family began their new life. She will be sorely missed by her husband and dear companion of 59 years Joe Kleiner. Loving mother of Gerald (Barb) Kleiner, David (Elaine) Kleiner of Woodstock, and Joann (Joe) Brnjas of Kitchener. Theresia was blessed with six grandchildren, Jerry Kleiner (Mary Beth), Lindsay (Justin) Edwards, Jessica Summers, Michelle (Wes) Farquharson, Chris Flannigan (Martina), and Samantha Flannigan (predeceased in 2009), and two step grandchildren, Stephanie (Andrew) Judge and Jennifer Brnjas. Further blessed was Theresia with eight great grandchildren, Owen, Seth, Nevin, Isaiah, Silas, Sloane, Kennedy, Koston, and two babies on the way. She will be missed by her brother Christian (Catherine) Gross along with several brother and sister-in-laws on the Kleiner side. Predeceased also by her parents, Simon Sr. and Katharina Gross, her brother Simon Jr. Gross, two sister-in-laws, Appolonia and Emmi Gross, and brother-in-law Adam Kleiner Jr. She was lovingly fond of her many nieces and nephews and will be missed by them. Theresia was dedicated to serving her family along with many others in so many ways. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Wednesday December 28, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm. There will be a time of visitation from 10 am to 10:45 am at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 175 Springbank Ave., Woodstock, on Thursday December 29, 2016 where the complete service will held in the sanctuary at 11 am, officiated by Tanya Ramer. If desired, donations in her honour and memory can be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodstock or Sakura House.
