MARKVOORT (nee Mulder), Sylvia – Passed away peacefully at her home and was welcomed into her Saviours arms on December 7, 2022, in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Arie Markvoort for over 43 years. Loving mother of Gilbert, Jennifer (Ben) Vanstraten, Stephen (Janelle), and Henrietta (Jahmar) Senior. Cherished Grandma to Micah, Josiah, Moriah, Judah; Ariya, Devon, Sam, and Ivy. Loved daughter of the late Bart “Bert” and Riek “Rita” (nee Spee) Mulder, and sister to Arnold (Cisca) Mulder, Neil (Teresa) Mulder, Bert (Doreen) Mulder, Ted (Jeanette) Mulder, and John (Andrea) Mulder. Sylvia was the 2nd oldest of 6 children and the only daughter. Sylvia will also be remembered by her in-laws and extended family in the Netherlands and Canada. She will be especially missed by her many friends and church family. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Anne Mulder, brother-in-law Henk Markvoort, and by her great-nephew Samuel Deboer. Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 735 Frontenac St., Woodstock, on Sunday December 11, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8pm, where the funeral service will be held in the sanctuary on Monday at 1:00 pm. Cremation will follow. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Woodstock Christian School would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004.
