Susan Dianne (nee McCulloch) “Sue” Kean - Passed away peacefully, and with grace, surrounded by the love of her family at Sakura House on November 29, 2024, at the age of 70.
She was the beloved wife of Michael Kean, with whom she shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a life full of love, joy, and treasured memories. Though predeceased by her cherished daughter, Amy, in 1997, Sue's enduring legacy lives on through her devoted and loving daughter, Sarah, and son-in-law Todd Humphrey. Sue will also be lovingly remembered by her cousin Shirley, as well as her dear friends Louise and Tracie, who stood by her through thick and thin.
Sue’s family circle extended to her brothers-in-law, Verne Kean and his wife Nancy, Ken Kean, and Bob Kean, all of whom will miss her deeply. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. Sue was predeceased by her brother, Kim McCulloch (2023), and by her parents, Mildred (1994) and James (2001).
Sue's professional life was marked by her dedication to her work for Oxford County, where she proudly served for 30 years. Outside of her career, Sue’s heart belonged to her family, and to her beloved pets. She was a devoted wife, mom and grand-dog-mom to her "fur babies" — Frankie, Shelby, Teddy and Ruby, as well as to Pepper, who was there to greet her on the other side. Sue’s love for her pets was unparalleled, and they brought her immense comfort and joy, enriching her life with their companionship and unconditional love.
Sue enjoyed a peaceful life, finding joy in the simple things. She had a true passion for gardening, and with her green thumb, she cultivated many beautiful flowers. Sue also cherished holidays, always making each one special, with Christmas being her favorite time of year.
In keeping with Sue’s wishes, a private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Oxford County Animal Rescue or to the London Humane Society to honour Sue’s memory.
The family sends their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Cheng and to the nursing staff on Unit 2200 at Woodstock General Hospital, and to Dr. Korvemaker and to the staff at Sakura House for the genuine care, compassion and support they demonstrated towards Sue.
