Steve Elliott Gallagher

Stephen Elliott Gallagher, affectionately known as Steve to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 27, 2024, at University Hospital. Born on October 1, 1944, in London, Ontario, Steve's warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many throughout his 80 years.

Steve was the beloved husband of Edith Gallagher (nee Scott), with whom he shared nearly three decades of marriage since their wedding on August 26, 1995. Their partnership was a testament to love, support, and mutual respect. Together, they built a family that includes their devoted daughter, Caroline McCallum, married to Michael, and their cherished grandchildren, Melanie, Beth, and Andrew, who brought immense joy and pride to Steve's life.

For 30 years, Steve was a dedicated employee at Morphy Containers, where he not only contributed his skills and work ethic but also formed lasting friendships and connections. His colleagues will remember him for his reliability, sense of humor, and the kindness he extended to everyone he worked with.

Steve's love for his family was paralleled only by his love for his furry companions. He was an avid animal lover, and his kitties and puppies were a constant source of happiness and comfort throughout his life. His gentle nature and the care he provided to his pets were a reflection of his overall approach to life—full of compassion and generosity.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and care team at University Hospital for their exceptional care and support during Steve's final days. Their dedication and kindness will always be remembered and appreciated.

Steve's life was one of love, laughter, and service to those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of warmth, generosity, and love for life will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Friends are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Thamesford Chapel (177 Dundas St. Thamesford 519-285-2427) on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 2 to 4 and again from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will take place at Brock and Visser on Saturday at 2:00 pm which will be followed by a burial at Vining Cemetery, Thorndale.
