Stanley Charles Windsor

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Stanley Charles Windsor, in his 90th year, in Woodstock, Ontario on April 12th, 2023. He passed peacefully away surrounded by his wife, Barbara of 62 years, his children and grandchildren.

Born on June 13th, 1933, in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He was educated at Bishop Field College and held a long career as a realtor at his own firm and at Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation. He met the love of his life Barbara Fowlow in 1959 and spent an incredible 62 years together. He was a loving father to Ken (Annette Hickey), Nancy (Rob Winsor), Bill (Shelley Pittman) and Andrew (Carolyn Power). He and Barbara decided to move to Ontario in their retirement to enjoy traveling and spending more time with their beautiful grandchildren. He was grandfather to Jessica (Mitchell), Matthew (Abby), Mark, Chase, Adam (Justine), Rachel and Elizabeth, and great-grandchildren to Ava, Zoey, Isla and Josie.

The love of his family was paramount to who he was as a person. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which he so affectionately referred to as poppy’s girl or poppy’s boy, brought so much joy to his life. He will forever be remembered for his love of gardening, with Poppy’s Garden as his pride and joy, his card shark skills beating everyone mercilessly in crib and bridge and his commitment to volunteerism in the communities that he lived.

He was a valued member of the Mazol Shriners Club in both St. John's, Newfoundland and Tillsonburg, Ontario, The St. John’s Masonic Lodge and St. John’s Lions Club. He was a long standing volunteer of the Anglican Church of Tillsonburg, Ontario.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday April 17th, 2023 at 3 pm at Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave., 519-539-0004)
