Shepley- Stan B. Shepley, of Embro in his 61st year on December 14th, 2009, with his family by his side. Stan will be greatly missed by his wife Joan, his dear partner and friend of over 34 years, and his much-loved daughter Susan. Stan was very close to his sister Joanne Humphrey (John) of Thamesville, brother Dave Shepley of St. Marys, and brother Reid Shepley (Donna) of Stratford. He also valued brother-in-law Neil Graham and his family. Stan was very much a part of his wife Joan's extended family and those ties meant a great deal to him. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and good friends he made through the years. Stan lived in Embro for 36 years and was proud to be part of the community. For 25 years, he owned and operated Oxford Saw & Tool Ltd., and before that had been an active member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Stratford Local. Stan was an avid kayaker, a past time that brought him enormous joy. He was also a pilot and loved everything to do with airplanes and flight. Stan enjoyed good conversation and had a vast interest in many topics, along with the people he met. His good humour and zest for life have been an inspiration to us. Joan and Susan extend our deepest appreciation to the many doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who cared for Stan. Special thanks to Dr. Karen Fryer, Dr. Jonny Tam, Dr. Doug Denton; the nurses at St. Elizabeth's, especially Sharon and Joan; Jan McKinnon of CCAC; and the excellent staff of the 4th Floor of Woodstock General Hospital. Relatives and friends will be welcomed at Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday December 17, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, The memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev.
