WRIGHT, Shirley - Passed away suddenly at the London Health Sciences Centre - University Campus on Sunday December 9, 2012. Shirley Genevieve (nee Allen) Wright of RR# 3, Woodstock in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Bruce Wright (1979). Dear mother of Donna Peat and her husband Larry of Thorndale and Laura Watpool and her husband Thomas of Pefferlaw. Loving grandmother of Donald Peat (Trish), Brent Peat, Andrea Lavoie (Serge), Melinda Watpool, Kristen Watpool, Jason Watpool, Raymond Brennan (Nikki), Anthony Brennan (Amanda) and great grandmother to Cassandra and Logan. Dear sister of Jason Allen and his wife Doris of Smithville. Predeceased by her daughter Mary Brennan (1993), grandson Trevor (1993) and by her sister Mary Comfort. Shirley attended Christ Church Huntingford, was a past member of Knox United Church Embro, Chalmer's United Church, past member of the Rebekah Lodge, Women's Institute, farmed with her husband for many years and was a teacher in years past at various one room schools and Zorra Highland Park School. Shirley's main focus was her family. She always took an interest in each of their lives. Shirley was especially active at the South Gate Senior Centre where she enjoyed many activities. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday December 14, 2012 from 7-9 pm, and again on Saturday from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. A service to honour and celebrate Shirley's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1:30 pm with Michelle Cockell officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment at a later date in the Old Log Church Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to D.A.S.O.
