Shirley (Shrubb) Colbert

Passed peacefully at St. Joseph Hospice in London, Ontario on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 83. Predeceased by her loving husband Bill, parents Edward and Mabel and sisters Edna and Linda. Left to honour her memory are her sons Douglas McDonald (Millan), Jeffrey McDonald (Laurie), Gary McDonald (Terri) and Brian McDonald; her brother Bill Shrubb; grandchildren Melanie (Mike), Leanne (Bash), Sarah, Hannah, Dale (Jayme), David, and Abigayle (Jerry); and great grandchildren.  Shirley was always grateful that her journey through life eventually brought her to Thorndale, Ontario, where she put herself through hairdressing school, found an excellent environment to raise her sons and met Bill, the love of her life.  Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas St. Thamesford (519-285-2427) on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10 to 11 am with the funeral service taking place at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Robin Hills Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to a charity of your choice, with her preferences being the Thorndale Lions Club, the Thorndale United Church or St. Joseph Hospice.
