Sandra Jean (Anderson) Poortinga

POORTINGA (nee Anderson), Sandra “Sandy” – After a sudden medical episode, Sandy passed away at her residence on Thursday December 15th, 2022, at the age of 64. Beloved wife of Peter for over 44 years. Dear mother of Jessica (Shawn) VanVliet and Kimberly (Sean) Webb. Cherished grandmother of Hunter, Sam, and Holden. Loving daughter-in-law of Rose Poortinga. Sister of Jim (Barb) Anderson and sister-in-law of Diane Bender (Greg Miskow), Charlene Poortinga, and Carolin Poortinga. Predeceased by her parents Ed and Helen Anderson, her sister Barb, father-in-law Andy Poortinga, and by her brothers-in-law Larry, Randy, and Calvin. Sandy was employed at CIBC, at Dundas and Graham, Woodstock for almost 40 years and retired to become a professional Grandma. She was a wonderful grand “dog” mother to Tikka, Henk, and Arlo. Sandy will be missed by her many friends, neighbours, nieces, and nephews. Friends are welcome to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday December 21, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:00 am, where the memorial service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. Interment to follow the reception at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
