WILLIAMS, Sadie Isabel (nee Gleason) - Passed away peacefully on Saturday August 2, 2014 in her 95th year at the Woodstock Hospital. Sadie was predeceased by her husband Arthur (Art) Williams and her brother Robert Gleason of Lakeside. Sadie is survived by her sister Ruth Galecki of London, son Peter and daughter-in-law Marion of Chilliwack B.C. and daughter Patricia and son-in-law James Riach of Woodstock ON., and four grandchildren, Ian Williams and Sandra Owens (Steve), Brent Riach (Kim) and Barb Maki (Mike) and four great-grandchildren, Paige, Sydney and Megan Owens and Brody Riach. Sadie was born in Lakeside Ontario on June 21, 1920 to Everett and Irene (Treacy) Gleason and later attended St. Mary's High School. She married Art Williams in 1941 and worked in Stratford while Art was overseas. On Art's discharge they started farming near Embro Ontario. Later they moved into the village of Embro where Sadie was Post Master for 27 years until moving to Woodstock. Sadie was very active with the Rebecca Lodge and also a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Embro. She was a parishioner at the Good Shepherd Anglican Church and a member of the Anglican Church Women. Sadie gave generously of her time knitting and baking for various fundraisers. She was an active member of the Oxford Philatelic Society, receiving many awards for various collections, and enjoyed working with her stamps and encouraged others to do the same. Sadie had a good life, loved travelling and will be remembered for her smile and positive and generous attitude. She will be dearly missed by all of us.
