Ruthann P. (Koster) Flowers

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruthann on October 08, 2023 at the age of 80.  After a long hard battle with cancer, Ruthann passed away at Sakura House surrounded by her family. Ruthann was born in Burford Township, in a small farm house. She was raised in the Embro- Kintore area, with a loving family of 10 brothers and sisters. She worked at LaFrance Textiles, later at Mallory Components, and lastly at her favorite job, Excel Delivery, working for her son Steve. She was always family-oriented, and loved gardening, knitting, crocheting and canning, as well as going to Florida with her husband Jim, and best friends Jim and Ruth Poyntz. Ruthann is survived by her husband and best friend, Jim Flowers. Loving mother of Steven Hackert (Jessie), Leanne Skillings (late Darryl), Mark Hackert, Ronald Flowers (Rena) and Lynda Flowers (Greg).

Proud Grandma of Allyson (Clay), Olivia, Nicole (Ryan), Erica (Cam), Michael (Cynthia), Ron (Olivia) and Steven (Nicolette), and Great Grandma of 7. Ruthann is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Ariel Koster, and her brother Bill, and survived by her 6 brothers, Roy (Maribeth), Norm, Jim (Kathy), Glen, Clint (Marjorie) and Carl (late Bonnie) and 3 sisters, Mary Schmidt (late Bert), Alma Stevenson and Maggie Parr (late Murray). Beloved sister in law of Dr. David and Val Flowers and Shelagh and Bill Morrison. Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock on Friday, October 13th from 12pm-1pm. Memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1pm. Friends may also visit during a time of fellowship and refreshments from 1:30-3:30 at the funeral home. Interment at Hillview Cemetery. Special thanks to the caring staff at Sakura House.
