Smith- At Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday May 23, 2004. Ruth E. Smith (nee Gardham) of John St., Woodstock in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Knox Smith (1986). Dear mother of Nancy Benson (Mike Hennessey) and Darlene Smith all of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Shelley Benson of Kelowna B.C., Paul Benson of Woodstock and Lorrie Ann Slade and her husband Jody of Ingersoll. Loved great grandmother of Cheyenne Benson and Chris, Adam, Tara-Lee and Tori-Lyn Slade. Dear sister of Betty Stewart of London, Alma Laarz of Ingersoll and Helen Rockett of Norwich. Also survived by her sister-in-law Marg Gardham of Ingersoll. Predeceased by her sister Lila Johnston, brothers Ross and Archie Gardham, brother-in-law Stan Stewart and son-in-law William Robert Benson. Ruth was a long time member of the Zenda U.C.W. and member of the Forresters. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (539-0004) on Monday 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel Tuesday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Gary Carruthers officiating. Interment in the Burgessville Baptist Cemetery. Contributions to the WDDS (ARC Industries) would be appreciated.
