SAVICH - Suddenly, as the result of a heart attack, on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. V. Ruth Savich (nee Burton) of Woodstock in her 80th year. Dear mother of Lola McCarthy (Roy) of Woodstock, Petar Savich of Sault Ste. Marie, Rosa Pyette (Rod) of Port Elgin and Mary Ann Tonin (Michael) of Innerkip. Loved grandmother of Alida, Jonathan, Kristina, Joanna, Cale, Rochelle, Attilio and Chi. Cherished friend of Harvey McKay. Dear sister of Howard Burton (Elsie), Barbara Somers (Ivor) and Doreen Hillsdon. Beloved daughter of the late Alice Burton-Harlock (nee Tilford). Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Arberry and brothers Cyril, Bill and Donald. Ruth was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock. She was a past employee of Hayes / Wellwood for more than 25 years and was an employee of the ORC where she worked in house keeping before her retirement. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 7-9 pm. A memorial service to commemorate Ruth's life will be held at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 59 Riddell St., Woodstock on Friday at 6:00 pm with Rev. Mark McLennan officiating.
