Ruth Marie Morris

Ruth Marie Morris, a spirited woman known for her love of Bingo, crochet, and helping others, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2023, in London, Ontario. Born on January 31, 1938, in Woodstock, Ontario.

Ruth was the beloved mother of Shani Lorch (Mike) and Brian Bragg, whom she had the joy of meeting later in life after he was adopted out. She was grandmother to Sheawna Lorch and Lucas Lorch, who is married to Mikailla. Ruth was a cherished sister to Dorothy Barnum (Gord) and Brenda McCollow (Dave). She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Pearl Holden, and her brother, James Holden.

Ruth's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She was an avid Bingo player, a hobby she pursued with a competitive spirit and a contagious enthusiasm. Ruth also found great joy in the art of crochet, creating beautiful pieces that were treasured by those lucky enough to receive them. Her love for these pastimes was only surpassed by her dedication to helping others.

During her time at the nursing home, Ruth became a beacon of support for her fellow residents. She took great pleasure in lending a helping hand wherever it was needed, demonstrating her resolve and strength of character. Ruth was known for being a little bossy, but her intentions were always rooted in care and concern for others. Her spirited nature and unwavering determination made her a beloved figure among the residents and staff alike.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 9, 2023 from 1-3 pm at Brock and Visser Funeral, 845 Devonshire Ave. If you so desire, donations to the Woodstock Hospital or Alzheimer’s Society.
