Ruth (Munro) Gates

GATES, Marion Ruth (Munro) The family of Ruth Gates is sad to announce her passing. Born December 26th, 1929, deceased September 7th, 2016 after a short, brave battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her husband Mac Gates, brother Hugh Munro, and her parents Kenneth and Marion (McNair) Munro. Ruth is survived by her loving children, Cheryl, Lynda (Ron), Nancy (Tony), Alan (Liz), Doug (Jill), and Robert (Susan). Dearly missed by her grandchildren Sarah (Adam), Daniel and Marion Ruth, Jaclyn and Jocelyn, Evelouise and Philip, Chloe Rose, Alison, Luke and Sam, Chloe, Mac and little Charlotte Ruth and great grandson Boone. Ruth was a proud member of the McNair Clan and the Lakeside Women's Institute. She was a long-time resident of a lovely farm on Zorra Town Line where many family gatherings were held. More recently, she resided in London, ON. Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Friday, September 9th, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford, ON where the funeral will be held on Saturday at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 12:00pm. Reverend Andrew Reid of New St. James Presbyterian Church, London officiating. Interment in the Town Line Cemetery, Zorra Twp with reception to follow at the Knox Presbyterian Church Hall, Harrington.
