Russell Edward Dickout

October 25, 1929 — March 3, 2024

Russell Edward Dickout, a pillar of strength and kindness in his community, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, in Woodstock, Ontario at 94 years of age.
Russell's journey began as a dedicated family man, a role he cherished above all else. His beloved wife Bernice was his lifelong partner in love and life's adventures. Together, they raised a family that became his pride and joy: daughters Virginia (Denis) Reilly and Sandra (Darcy) Alyea. Though he was predeceased by his son Norman in 1990 and daughter Kathryn Routliffe in 2011, his legacy continued to thrive through his grandchildren Brian, Russell, Jennifer, Jill, Garrett, Sadie, and Ainsley, as well as six great-grandchildren who will carry forward his teachings and love.
Russell's commitment to his family was matched only by his dedication to his work and community. A long-time dairy farmer, he was a respected figure in agricultural circles, known for his expertise and passion for the land. His involvement with the Dereham Masonic Lodge spanned an impressive 70 years, reflecting his unwavering commitment to the principles of brotherhood and service.
A true leader, Russell was an active member and leader of 4H Clubs and Junior Farmers. His influence shaped the lives of many young individuals, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and community service. His love for cattle was not just a profession but a way of life. He showed cattle for many years, and his presence was a familiar and welcome sight at Black and White shows and fairs, where he enjoyed both participating and spectating.
