THOMSON, Russel A. - At his residence on Thursday March 5, 2015. Russel Alexander Thomson of PeopleCare, Stratford and Tavistock and formerly of RR# 2, Embro in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Rosie Thomson (nee Hanchiruk) (February 14, 2015) for over 67 years. Loved son of the late John Alexander and Susan Grace Thomson (nee Bloomfield). Dear father to Linda (Vartan) and Karen. Loved grandfather to Antronig and Nuvere. Dear brother of Ruth Gibbs and brother-in-law to Ellen Thomson and Stella Greenfield. He will always be remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his grandson Matthew (1991), his infant sister Evelyn Margaret Grace Thomson, his brothers Hilton Thomson, Ralph (Dora) Thomson and his brothers-in-law Tom Myerscough, Allen Greenfield, John (Florence) Hanchiruk and sisters-in-law Mary (Mike) Moleroff, Olga (James) Tottle. Russel was a past member of the Brooksdale United Church. Friends are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 3 - 7 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with John Hiuser of Brooksdale United Church officiating. Interment later in the North Embro Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
