FORBES, Ross H. - Passed away peacefully at Parkwood Veteran's Hospital on Saturday, May 7th 2016 joining his wife Isabella Smith (Anderson) Forbes on the anniversary of her birthday. Ross was in his 96th year. Ross will be greatly missed by his son Ross (Una) Forbes and his daughter Barbara (Len) Boychuk. He was loved by his six grandchildren Derek, Kim, John, Pam, Jason and Victoria and fondly remembered by his ten great grandchildren. Ross served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII as a signalman on the Drumhellar. He was a dedicated employee of Sarnia's Ethyl Corporation where he worked for over 25 years. During his life Ross was an active member of the Noruh Grotto club of Port Huron, a regular competitor at the Woodstock Curling Club and a proud veteran who completed more than 70 years of active Royal Canadian Legion membership. Visitation will take place at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004), Saturday May 14th 2016 from 10 - 11am, where a complete service will take place at 11am. A private family interment will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55 or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated and can be made through Brock and Visser Funeral Home.
