Ronald Charles Weatherhead, a man of adventurous spirit and who was relentlessly energetic, passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2023, at home. Born on June 8th, 1937, in Toronto, Ontario, he lived a life filled with love, service, and the pursuit of his passions.
Ron, as he was affectionately known, was a beloved husband to Betty (nee Burwell) and a cherished father to his daughter, Tracey Weatherhead (Paul). He was predeceased by his infant son, David, a loss that he bore with profound strength and grace. His love for his family extended to his grandchildren, Randy Weatherhead (Sonia) and Ryan Blancher (Julia), who brought him immense joy and pride.
Ron was the treasured brother of Gord Weatherhead, Bill Weatherhead (Mary Ellen), and Pat Roth (Marty). He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Christina Weatherhead, whose legacy of resilience and kindness he carried forward. He was also a loved uncle to many nieces and nephews, who will remember him for his warmth and infectious sense of adventure.
Ron's commitment to his community was evident in his 38 years as a chartered member of Sweaburg Lions. His dedication to service and his tireless efforts to better the lives of those around him were a testament to his generous spirit and relentless drive. His work with the Lions Club left a lasting impact on the community, a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
Beyond his commitment to service, Ron was a man of diverse interests. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating, pursuits that allowed him to immerse himself in the beauty of nature. He had a love for classic cars, a passion that reflected his appreciation for history and his keen eye for detail. His motorcycle was more than a mere vehicle to him; it was a symbol of his free spirit and his love for the open road.
