Ronald George Ross

ROSS - After a long and courageous battle, at Woodstock General Hospital on Thursday February 9, 2006. Ronald G. Ross of Fairview Cres., Woodstock in his 62nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Pat C. Ross (nee Coad). Proud father of Kathy Lamers and her husband Jeff of Vienna and loved grandfather of Grace. Dear brother of Ken Ross of Victoria B.C., Margaret Rothemburg and her husband Paul of Thunder Bay and Joseph Ross and his wife Val of Woodstock. Fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters -in -law, nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. Predeceased by his parents Helen Ross (1990) and Elmer Ross (2000) and his sister-in-law Jean Ross (2000). Ron worked for the P.U.C., Woodstock for 35 years before retiring in 2002. He was an active member in the Standard Bred Horses and an avid sportsman. Ron was also a longtime member of Old St. Paul's Anglican Church, the Craigowan Golf and County Club and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (539-0004) on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 11:00 am with Rev. Bruce Genge officiating. Interment later in the Anglican Cemetery. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital Building Fund would be appreciated.
