McIntyre, Ronald Eugene "Ron" After a prolonged battle with lung cancer Ron passed away on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 at Hospice London. Beloved husband of The Rev. Dr. Jan McIntyre, and devoted father to Rona L. McIntyre, Toronto, and D. Scott McIntyre, Waterloo. Proud Grandpa to Spencer McIntyre of London, and Simon McIntyre of Waterloo. Survived by: his Mother - Bea McIntyre, Chatham; Brother - Gerald McIntyre (Marilyn), Waterloo; Sister - Dianne Thompson (Barrie), Chatham. Predeceased by Father: Archie McIntyre, Chatham. Extended family includes: sister-in-law June Charter, Mitchell; brother-in-law Mack Smith (Bessie), London; several aunts, nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephews, cousins, and honorary family member Steve Merrick, London. Formerly of Ridgetown, Ontario, Ron apprenticed-with and graduated-from The Canadian School of Embalming, Toronto, and was employed at Funeral Homes in Mitchell, Toronto, and London in the 1960s. In 1999 he retired from Ford Motor Co. St. Thomas Assembly Plant after 30 years of service; later working part-time as Weekend-Duty Manager for Esam Group, London (2007-2009). He will be sorely missed by many friends who faithfully supported him throughout this journey. It was a long struggle but he is at peace. Friends may call at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Monday, January 9th, 2017 from 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service at Knox Presbyterian Church, 59 Riddell St., Woodstock, on Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with brief light lunch to follow in Lower Hall. Private interment following the reception will be at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Morpeth, Ontario. Flowers gratefully welcomed. Charitable donations to Hospice London appreciated by the family.
