Roman Palka

Roman Palka, born on June 2, 1963, in the quaint village of Mazanow, Poland, left this world unexpectedly on January 10, 2025. As we gather to honour and celebrate a life richly lived, we are reminded of the joy he brought to all those fortunate enough to know him.

Roman was a man of boundless spirit, an adventurer at heart, whose laughter was as infectious as the tales he told. His love of life was mirrored in his many passions, from the thrill of motorcycling, where no trail was too daunting, to the serenity of scuba diving he embraced with his beloved wife, Tammy. Each day was a new chapter in his greatest adventure, be it on the slopes or exploring the hidden treasures of the world around him.

A devoted husband to Tammy Palka (nee Hackett), Roman's love knew no bounds. Together they forged a partnership grounded in companionship and laughter, nurturing a family that emanated his generous spirit. Roman was an unwavering support to his children, Kasia Palka (TJ Coyen), Ryan Amato (Rae-Lyn McKinlay), and Katie Amato (Austin Baillargeon) who carry forward his legacy of kindness and adventure. He took immense pride and cherished moments spent with his grandson, Datsun Amato.

Throughout his life, Roman exemplified the essence of giving. He would go out of his way to help those around him, embodying a giving heart that left an imprint on the lives he touched. With a dog named Chip by his side, he radiated warmth and companionship, forming bonds that enriched his life and those around him.

Roman's spirit will continue to inspire us all, and though he has been predeceased by his beloved parents, Stanislaw and Marianna Palka, the love they instilled in him lives on through his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home Burial and Cremation Services, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004). This gathering will be an opportunity for everyone who knew Roman to share stories filled with love, laughter, and adventure—a fitting tribute to an extraordinary man.
