Robert Hawes, a lifelong resident of Woodstock, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born into the warm embrace of his parents, Ken and Wanda Hawes, Robert's journey through life was marked by an unwavering kindness and a heart that knew no bounds.
A cherished brother to Bradley Morris Hawes and his partner Linda Mundy, Robert's familial bonds were a source of immense pride and joy. His caring nature extended to every member of his family, and he was always the first to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a shoulder to lean on. His thoughtfulness and loving spirit were the hallmarks of his character, traits that endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
Robert's passion for baseball was undeniable. A longtime fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, he found solace and excitement in the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd. His love for the game was paralleled only by his fascination with architecture. He could often be found marveling at the skeletal frames of buildings under construction, his eyes alight with wonder at the progress of each new structure.
In his quieter moments, Robert was a movie lover, immersing himself in cinematic worlds and stories. The silver screen was his escape, a place where his imagination could roam free and his heart could swell with the drama and comedy of the human experience.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday January 24, 2024, from 11 – 12 noon followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Burial will take place at Oxford Memorial Park.
